CMPD activities at the University of Maryland are
hosted by the Center for Scientific Computation and Mathematical
Modeling (CSCAMM). Research projects within the Institute for Research
in Electronics and Applied Physics (formerly known as the
Institute for Plasma Research) are central to the CMPD mission.
Students come from the Physics and Astronomy Departments and the AMSC program.
In the Spring of 2004, we held a preliminary
meeting at CSCAMM. The focus of the meeting was on kinetic plasma
physics models for astrophysical applications, and was co-sponsored by
the Princeton Institute for Computational Science and
Engineering. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for Oct. 24-28 in Princeton.
