CMPD 2004 Summer School

The Center for Multiscale Plasma Dynamics is hosting eleven students and two post-doctoral fellows over the summer of 2004 in CSCAMM. The graduate students come from four physics/astrophysics departments (Maryland, Texas, Princeton, and Imperial College, London). Two hold Dept of Energy Fusion Energy Sciences Fellowships, and one of the Maryland student holds a prestigious Dept of Education GANN Fellowship. The post-doctoral fellows are originally from the US and Japan.

The students each have research projects in plasma physics and scientific computation, supervised by Maryland faculty. In addition, the CMPD is hosting a series of talks and laboratory tours from Maryland faculty and staff in related areas of research.
