Abstract: We prove the uniqueness modulo a diffeomorphism and a gauge transformation of the solution of the inverse problem for the general second order hyperbolic equation with zero initial conditions and the boundary data given on an open part L of the boundary. The domain can be multi-connected and L can be not connected. The methods used include the unique continuation theorem by Tataru and the geometric optics solutions.
