Abstract: This
talk will review several level set formulations
recently developed for the computation of
multi-valued solutions for a class of first-order
evolution equations, and their applications to the
computation of high frequency waves. The main idea
is to identify the multi-valued geometrical
quantities implicitly in a selected augmented space
(phase, jet or field space), based on which
multi-valued physical observables are further
evaluated by pro- jection. We will also discuss the
relation of computed solution to the usual
entropy/viscosity solution.
