The Co-Evolution of Galaxies and Black Holes

Abstract:
The observational data offers important constraints
on the evolutionary history of massive black holes in
galaxies. We'll review the state of claims on this subject.
Uncertainties in the mass function for very low and very
high mass objects, and in the scatter in the correlations
between BH and galaxy bulk properties, together with
selection effects, make it difficult to draw strong conclusions
about the mutual evolution of BH and galaxies.
